JM Design Inc. is me, Joanne Meirovitz. I've been working in the
graphic design and illustration world for over 25 years. After graduating from Brandeis University in Waltham Massachusetts with a major in painting and printmaking, I got my first design job in 1979 at a small photography and multimedia slide production company in Boston.
After five years, I moved to Vermont and began doing freelance illustration and design work. I continued my freelance career in Boston until I received a contract at Lotus Development Corp., a software development company. This turned into a full-time job and I stayed there for ten years.
The knowledge and experience I gained from my employment at Lotus as both a designer and project manager taught me about working with a team, the importance of communicating and collaborating with other team members, organizing and scheduling projects and making deadlines, attention to details, and the technical aspects of creating and releasing a software product or web application.
I left Lotus in 1999 to once again explore new territories independently
and formed JM Design Inc. My clients have ranged from individuals to Fortune 500 corporations. I offer a full range of design services, from illustration to creating web sites and whatever else the future brings.
